Hi Scent Grail Tribe. It’s been a while since my last article, and it’s time for an update on what’s been going on recently, so I’m gonna do a sweet, short post about the most important news.
The primary reason for the lack of content over the last six months is something I did not plan but has been “cooking” in my head for the last year or so.
After having more than 40 bottles in my collection and sampling so much over the years, I had to ask myself: What is the point of adding anything I’m sure I won’t finish?
As you know, I’m not sponsored by anyone, and I rarely ask for bottles for reviews. We all know that after you receive something for free, it’s not the same, and it can unconsciously alter your opinion.
The fragrance community is, sadly, in a certain state that I won’t get into in more detail, and I haven’t followed anyone for at least a year.
Even though my will to write anything other than proper reviews is at 0%, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
In the last six months, I have acquired two new fragrances. Those being Versace The Dreamer and Mugler A*Men Fantasm, which I equally enjoy and plan to review when I get a chance.
The second, and probably even more important, one, which keeps me from writing anything new, is the rise of AI summaries on search results and AI in general, which often provide brief information from your website without actually needing to visit the source.
And, I refuse to feed AI for free anymore, and many other bloggers have decided to do the same. I am not going to lock the website besides the already Patreon option, but writing five or more in-depth articles per month just to be taken by AI is out of the question.
I’m still thinking about what to do about this, but the blogging scene in general doesn’t look good anymore.
As for the website, it will stay online, and thoughts of shutting it down are nonexistent. So, we are all good on that part.
As for life, it’s been going pretty well, and I’m exploring some other hobbies I love.
Once again, thanks everyone for your support, and whatever time brings, I’m sure we can overcome anything.
Until next time, stay safe and keep smelling good!
Marin Kristić
